is there a difference in the quality between an sd card and a sdhc card?
i'm going to buy a hd camcorder tomorrow. i have a 8gb sd card. if i were to buy a sdhc 8gb card will there be any difference in quailty ?
also, is there any REAL difference between 8gb sd and 8gb sdhc cards ?
An 8GB SD card is a SDHC card. Regular SD cards only go up to 2GB. Anything over 2GB is SDHC. So the simple answer to your question is no. But there is a difference between cards in terms of speed. The speed is defined as "class" in SD cards. Currently the highest speed (faster and higher data transfer rates) available is class 6. Typically most SD cards are class 2 or 4. Panasonic and Toshiba have recently announced a class 10 card but it is still too early to know if there are any real benefits to these cards because as of August 2009, the SD Association's Web site does not include information on this new class or new specification.
