What is the difference in IDE, EIDE, ATA, and SATA?
I know cables are different between IDE and SATA but what other differences are there between IDE, EIDE, ATA and SATA?
The first 3 are the same, but an engineer would differentiate them, commonly refer to as PATA it uses 40-pin cable with lines running in parallel for data transmission; SATA serial differs and use a different cabling that runs in serial mode.
