Can I switch between pigment and dye ink with an Epson Stylus 2200?
I have an Epson 2200 and want to use a Continuous Ink System. I also have a compatible CIS system but it is dye ink. Can I just stick it in and use it or will I have to clean out all the pigment ink first? Or will it even ruin the print head? Thanks

Yes you have to clean it out.

No but the mixture will create messy print (inconsistent color).

You will NOT like the results of CIS. The WHOLE point of Epson SYSTEM is the PRINTER + INK + PAPER (all from epson). If you were to stop using either the ink or paper from epson, you loose ALL THE BENEFIT of using epson.
Don't make the assuption that ALL color inks are the same (or the even the colors are the same intensity). For example if your computer want to print 10% magenta, epson magenta is NOT the same as CIS magenta

I use Epson R1800 and I did extensive research on this issue (as ink is very expensive). I came to the conclusion I would NOT have ANY benefit of Epson system (good color and good longevity).
